Open Question: Height problem? Stunt growth?
I know the answer will most likely be no. Coffee, tea, standing on your head, I know that that doesn't work. I would really adore to stay my current height. I'm 15, female, 5'7. I talk German, French, Portuguese and English, and I met my boyfriend through a language program, before my last birthday. He is 19. No worries about sex, it is mostly long distance, and he wants to respect the law. We are legal in my country, but not his. Now that I have that out of the way, I wish to not be seeing many comments on that. I adore him. He is 5'10. I am 5'7. My parents are around, 6'0 and 6'3. I do not want to be taller than my beau.. and seeing as there is probably no way to stunt growth, maybe somebody has an estimate on around how tall I will be? If I will still grow alot? Or maybe, just some advice for me if I do become the taller one. Thank you! I will pick best answer.

Open Question: Learning Mandarin Chinese VS learning multiple other languages within the next five years?
Greetings, I am having a difficult time deciding whether I should achieve a good level of fluency in Mandarin Chinese within the next five years, or become fluent in multiple other languages given that time-frame. I’m currently fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese. My interests remain within Latin American relations, the CIA, the U.N., and other possible career paths dealing with international relations. I will be interning in DC next year again, and will head off to graduate school afterwards. I have five years to really concentrate on my career path and do the things that will make me a strong candidate for my interests. Opinions vary on how difficult learning Chinese is and how long it takes to become fluent, but it seems like everyone agrees it will take many years, including the time to allow myself to undergo a complete immersion experience within the country. Given that same amount of time and work, I could potential become fluent in multiple other languages, especially if I look into other Romance languages (i.e. French, Italian, Romanian) or Germanic languages. My language skills will be either of these scenarios in the next five years. Of the two, which sound like the best option: - English - Spanish - Portuguese - Chinese or - English - Spanish - Portuguese - French - Indonesian - Romanian I would pick French because it is an international language much like English, Spanish and Portuguese; Indonesian because it is an Asian language with over 100 million speakers; and Romanian because it is an Eastern European language closely related to the relax of the romance languages. I believe I could learn these three within five years (I picked up Portuguese in less than half). Opinions? Other possible language combinations are more than welcomed, thanks!

bachelor arts requires a level 4 of a language - which should I take? I know that spanish is becoming more relevant in the US, so is arabic and chinese, while french and german may be useful! Not sure what would be best. I am going to go into Law and I am a history major. My options are: arabic, chinese, french, german, hindi, italian, japanese, latin, russian, spanish, portuguese. I want to know which are the best universities of architecture in brazil? also, do they accept international students for every 4 years? also, what's the process and the cost? or where could I find that information? the reason why I'm taking an interest in going there to study is because I want take my portuguese into perfection. Okay I am learning Brazilian Portuguese an I want to know if you spell the words in order like we do.... I know it may not make sence but I adore you in Portuguese is Eu amo voce. Eu is I, amo is adore, and voce is you so it is I adore you just like we would say it in order. Now some languages like French for example put different words in different places as if they where writing backwards. Now does that happen in Brazilian Portuguese? Or is I adore you the only thing that is in order? So if I where to write down Cats are awesome would it be wrote down like I adore you (but in Portuguese) or would the words be mixed? If I where to write down : I'm fine thankyou would it be wrote like :estu bem obriganda as in estu bem being I'm fine and obriganda being thankyou or would it be wrote down differently more in a french style or In order like ours is ? I currently talk 3 Languages, English being my native language, Spanish second and Portuguese third, I've been at the Portuguese for a year now and I'm confident to say I'm semi fluent, I do feel I have not mastered it yet and would be about another year until I do, I really want to move onto Bosnian/Serbo-Croat, I don't know if I should master Portuguese first or start my next language and continue to master Portuguese as I go along, advice on this, personal experience, best methods etc. thank you!

So, theres this guy called carlos. He moved back to Portugal in septemer from living in england for 3 years or so. he moved back to do his pilot course.Before i tell you what happened, il tell you a lil info about his background: mixed race angolian and Portuguese and hes beautiful. Hes an only child of a millionaire family. So he added me in oct/nov and i knew i had seen him around and he said he thought he might of known me. So we spoke a little and then we spoke more and more. Then it went on to phone calls ect. He was so sweet mouthed. when i spoke to him,he was like my best pal, i use to just chat to him every night and he cared for me and showed so much intrest, he knew what to say and he just made me feel so special. i dont know how he did it and im one who dosnt receive fooled easily and do have alot of experience in mens behaviors he told me about himself not having much time aand always busy with his studies and how he was such a gentlemen.he said i should visit him (he would pay for expenses) and he would book me a hotel (so we wouldnt end up sleeping together) by january i told him not to be sleeping with other girls and that i had feelings for him, he said he felt the same ect. so he asked me what i wanted for xmas and i said him to arrive england. before he came.. he was like a boyfriend to me, i knew him, like i think i had fallen for him slightly..but i had to be sure n had to look him..people can be different in real life..so he booked the tickets on the exact dates i told him to and got a hotel. BTW he use to live in manchester and i live in manchester aswel. so he came and went out with his friends before we went and had dinner at night.. I was so excited, the guy who i almost found sweet and amazing was about to look. so i knocked on his hotel door and he opened it i couldnt cease kissing him.. so then he got ready and as we turned the lights off to leave the room he gave me such a romantic kiss and just felt me. we just laughed and talked as we got to the restaurant. when he was sat oppose me in the restaurant he just looked at me with his gorgeous eyes... we never argued, i started to fall in adore with him. he told me how beautiful i was although out the night.then we headed back. he held me tight from the back and made me feel warm in the icy as we were walking,he made me feel safe, like no other guy has, i knew i was in adore.at this point i was officially his gf. i said i didnt want to spoil things n have sex,and i told him before as well. so before we got to the hotel he said then dont arrive, you should go home. but i said no i just wanna spend some time with you and then il go. so then we went up and after 1hour in the hotel he had a wee. i stood behind and dried his willy and then we had sex. after sex he didnt make me regret it. he made me feel secure and good. nothing changed.and he said he wouldnt of been unhappy enough to arrive from Portugal for sex and before he came he said if we ever have sex it wont be sex it would be adore making, i said how n he said so he could look my adore face and he could feel me ect. so then we came down from the hotel and then he introduced me to his mate who was waiting for him. we decided to meet on tomorrow night before he went, then something happened and then he said he was truely deep down sorry (valid excuse) and he would arrive on valentines day and make it up to me.i didnt want him to go.i wanted this guy to move back to manchester again. so tthen in the airport before he departed, i said you possess me for last night and he said he owned me and he just told me i was special, he said this on the night as well i saw him. i started crying a little. i didnt want him to go. when he got to Portugal, i said my mum is suspicious, and my friends ect and he said so are my friends because they think you live in Manchester n ul cheat on me, but that thier jealous n we should ignore them because what we have is great.every night we still spoke like usual and then one night he said he lives in Portugal and that he wont be comming back to live there after his pilot course n i shouldnt change my life for a boy,he said he didnt want a long dis relationship because hel always cheat on me. So there's this girl let's call her J. So I came to a new school this year and I made one pal. Let's call her M. M invited me to her table because I had no where to sit. J hated me. She was always so rude and snotty to me. She's not the skinniest girl she's kinda chubby and she wears mini skirts to school. Resolved Question: What to do when my husband treats me like a child?
He always thinks he knows best for me (he usually does, and it's helpful), but sometimes he can treat me like a child. Like when I don't clip a pomegranete right, he scolds me if I make a mess. He doesn't like that I keep my phone in the Portuguese language, so he nags me to change it to English, so that he can understand it when he wants to fix something for me like hook up bluetooth and show me how to do something technologically (I don't know much about technology). He also tells me how to steer ("Why did you let that guy in? Turn in the other lane, it's less bumpy") so much that from now on whenever he wants to receive somewhere I let him steer. He behaves sometimes like I don't know how to make my possess decisions. I feel like a child with him, and I tell him sometimes. But when I tell him, he accuses me of "Complaining" and that I don't really like him and he says he can't take it. I don't want a divorce. I adore him so much, but I hate it when he treats me like a child. What do I do? How do I communicate with him without seeming like I'm complaining.

Of course not.It's just the most widely spoken globally. (as Mandarin is spoken by more people, but only in one localised part of the globe) So why do people sell Christianity in the same nice of way? Like it's the "truth" just because it's most popular? And it's only got that accolade because the Romans brought it to Europe, who, in turn, took it around to areas we colonised. Where English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Italian are spoken, Christianity will be a popular religion. But it's because of history that it's so popular. At first he just webcammed cause I didnt have a webcam so I could only look him and he couldnt look me. He was the guy in the pictures too and he looks his age too. I talked to his sister once or twice too. I got in trouble once cause I called him and the phone bill went up and Im not allowed to talk to him cause, my parents are scared even though they've never seen my webcam with him or seen his family pictures. Resolved Question: A question that will get a lot of people pissed, but well I cant help it?
A very dear pal of mine the other day, an American, referred to me, as an "African-Portuguese", to which I replied: "What did you just say?" lol And then I went on to further explain that in Europe we don't do that, and that subsequently I am Portuguese period, because in Europe we go by what our passport says, and it's about nationality more than it is about ethnic origin. An African descent person in either Spain, Portugal or England is just, Spanish, Portuguese or English. In Europe we don't need to wear a tag on our foreheads, we make it simple we don't do that. That is an American tag, so it nice of got me pissed at first, first that he didnt know that, and second, that he wanted to transport it onto me. Later I realized that I had to respect his possess views of the world, the ones below which he was born, understand and just explain how it works where I arrive from. "There is nothing about Africa neither on my ID card, nor on my passport, because I was born in Portugal, and lived my life there, and in every frankness I have never even been to Africa, and whereas I am just as fond of my African origins as I am of my Portuguese ones, I am simply Portuguese, and not "African-Portuguese", because that doesn't exist. That's an American thing that you Americans do. But the relax of the world doesn't. And to be quite honest, it's not that I give any importance to being Portuguese either, it just happens to be what's on both my passport and ID card! So my question to you is: Why is it that the land of the free so fixated in branding, tagging and cataloging people so much!? What if I go to the US, what will people call me within the realm of their society? Latino, because I'm from a Latin speaking country, African-American, because I'm mulatto, (even though I am obviously not American lol). Seriously, and who the F... cares, other than, again, Americans?? Haven't they, Americans, learned anything from Charlize Theron's statement? Before acquiring the American nationality as well, she was simply African, period. She was born in South Africa, so she was African, not "Euro-African" like Americans would probably call her according to their logic, given that she is white. Facts are she was just African, because that's how it works with the relax of the world: people go by what their passport says. And now the only reason why she has called herself an African-American was because in the mean time she did acquire the American nationality, which does give her a double nationality (which might have made a few red neck heads' explode I'm sure). Seriously why is it that Americans feel this need to brand themselves and the relax of this world as if we were every cows that HAVE to belong to a speciphic heard? Because mind, origins wise, some of us simply dont. look my family is so mixed by now, that originally we could just be a map of the world (its not just African and Portuguese blood that goes through my veins), and do Americans even know about this, about people like me? Or maybe they don't, because they are just too busy branding the cows. And mind, us the relax of the world do have things like History and cultural and ethnic origin diversity, and issues that arrive with it too, in buckets. It's not just the US that is a racial melting pot anymore, and it's not just the US that has had and still has racial issues to solve. However, we just don't use tags, because that would make life unnecessarily complicated, and at times also unfair. We simply dont do that to ourselves in Europe, it's already as difficult as it is sometimes why make it stupidly complicated? Tagging oneself should be the most stupid and dumbest fault a human being can commit against himself, and not to mention a really confusing one too! But if you can give me a reasonable explanation why I wont say another word about it, and even give you a best anwer if it sounds plausible the enough. Resolved Question: relocating to Oahu - I have been reading a lot of statements re: haoles.?
My family, 3 generations - both sides arrived from Portugal to Oahu. My mom grew up and then came to California. As Portuguese decent, and family on the island. Will I have trouble with the Haoles remarks? I never had anyone say anything to me while on visit. However, visiting, and living are much different. I still have family on the island, but even so, that does not mean much if I were to relocate myself. Is it safe? And what area would be the best for the Portuguese? I did read that there really is no Portuguese community like china town, etc. But for safety reasons, any suggestions on what area to live, and how to avoid the Haoles comments, even though I never heard that directed at me, I have heard it from my Auntie...about others...any suggestions, would be greatly appreciated. thank you very much for you feed back. Resolved Question: Do you like sushi....?
my best pal is from Japan.. I went to his home for the first time to snooze in there.. but I though his family would eat our typical south Brazilian food.. risotto, churrasco, lasanha.. but they every eat sushi! and I didn't like it. I felt emberassed because I was eating it so slow and his mom laughed and she doesnt talk portuguese.. said odd things laughing and told my pal to call for pizza =p it was silly lol.. I thought sushi was good before.. but now.. XP . I can't sing the anthem of your country.. and that would be very mean @silly rabbit.. yes lol.. but I didn't eat it alone.. they every ate it.. just not his dad.. he doesnt like it =p
